UK-based Spanish singer-songwriter Gizmo Varillas has created an elusive sound that combines his incredibly diverse musical influences and the endless list of instruments he uses. He creates a powerful combination of simple but profound lyrics à la Bob Marley, carried by melodies of Paul Simon, relaxed grooves of Jack Johnson, guitars of John Frusciante and numerous Latin and Afro influences. The departure for new horizons is perhaps an apt symbol for the creative momentum of Gizmo Varillas, who expands his musical spectrum to include exciting facets with each new album. We still have to wait until the start of 2025 to discover the artist's 4th opus.
