DJ MAT (FRA)
DJ Mat, composer of deep house, funk, disco is originally from Finistère in Brittany, co-founder in early 2016 of the Lands'end Records label.
Mathieu has always wanted to mark his compositions with the imprint of music from black American culture and recall their direct connection with House Music.
In the 90s, DJ MAT made his debut in Finistère nightclubs (A l'Ouest, Calao...) then brought by Kanabeach, he performed in different Parisian clubs (Folies Pigalle, Parc des Buttes Chaumonts).
Through his EP Gabriel, Mathieu pays homage to gospel by combining organic and deep house with soulful voices from Negro spirituals.
“gospel, beyond a culture, was the only means of expression through songs and dances. From churches to Congo Square, it was during these rare moments of freedom that the greatest musical movements still alive today were born. »
Lands'end Records is an independent label that chooses to produce music from African American influences. The label gives itself the freedom to stand out, far from formats and trends, Lands'end Records creations and its collaborations will be eclectic and open.
